KC Deane is a Craniosacral healer based in Topanga, Ca.
Early life and Athletic Career
I grew up North Idaho, raised on a farm riding horses and playing in the mountains and lakes. My family raised me agnostic, without any spirituality or teachings of the divine realm. After leaving Idaho at 19 I moved to Reno, Nevada to become a professional skier. After a few years of working as a gymnastics coach, I began skiing professionally in 2007/2008 which led me to a 15 year ski career as a pro skier. In 2012 I was inspired to become a pro mountain biker after watching the iconic Red Bull Rampage event. A year later I began biking professionally. In 2014 I received an athlete invite to Redbull Rampage, and remained a dual sport professional athlete for the remainder of my athletic career.
The Physical Healing Journey
The physical healing journey began as an athlete. When pushing at a high level of sport, a simple mistake could be serious bodily injury or fatal. During my career my injuries ranged from a broken neck C2, broken ribs, legs multiple times, foot, hands etc, as well as many surgeries to repair ruptured ligaments, internal injuries such as a ruptured spleen, and a collapsed lung. So I had to figure out how to help my body heal and after a clavicle surgery in the summer of 2014 I was pointed toward Craniosacral. Fresh out of the hospital with a plate in my shoulder and dislocated ribs, the chiropractor was unable to facilitate the healing needed, and luckily I was pointed to craniosacral therapy which was able to gently slip them back in just one session. I became a frequent client of Cranio practitioners and a year later while watching a craniosacral practitioner work, he simply looked over at me and said, “you know you can do this? You have the gift in your hands and need to start practicing“ I started that day in 2015 and could both feel and understand the energetic work the practitioner was doing. I learned by practicing on myself, other athletes, and friends in the community.
The Spiritual Journey
The spiritual journey as a human and healer began at the beginning of my ski career when I had a chance meeting with a medium, who spoke of angels and ghosts, then promptly told me that I was able to see them. 4 years later I sought out someone to help me understand this ability and align it for my highest good as it became a little too intense. I was guided to a shamanic healer by the name of Darryl Gurney who helped guide me in the beginning of my spiritual journey. In 2019 without any medicine/psychedelics while listening to sound bowls I had a shamanic calling, which was a vision that came of looking through the eyes of an eagle while flying through the Himalayan mountains. This began a 5 year shamanic transition that just kept happening without consciously intending to “become a shaman”, and eventually led to my retirement as an athlete. Through my shamanic transition Darryl and his wife Jennifer Poland were instrumental in helping me to understand the metaphysical, or the spirit realm. The accumulation of my shamanic journey was channeled a prayer and commitment of shamanic right to heal, pulling from the pure light of God in all directions.
How does that all come together?
These parts of my life have now intersected into the healing work that I am doing. My knowledge of the physical body learned from practicing Craniosacral and from my healing and overcoming physical injuries, has coupled with the spiritual knowledge from my shamanic journey to help people heal and release their pain and suffering. Pain and suffering is Physical, Mental, Emotional, or Spiritual. My work finds the root of the pain and allows healing on all levels to alleviate the pain and suffering. So yes I do craniosacral, but it’s a healing experience that is much deeper than a normal craniosacral session, and allows a deep healing that most humans would maybe only get through a medicinal journey. Below are two examples of the physical and energetic systems where I work during a craniosacral session.
